Ms. Castro

Ms. Alexandra Castro is an educator with over 30 years of experience serving students in the Los Angeles Unified School District and beyond. She began her career as a Teacher Assistant right after high school and by age 22 became a Special Education Assistant, supporting lessons, small groups, and student growth for 12 years. In 2005, she became a credentialed teacher and spent 17 years teaching Kindergarten through fifth grade. Known for her patience, creativity, and commitment, she ensured every child had the chance to succeed by using new strategies, engaging families, and offering small group support. After retiring in January 2024, Ms. Castro joined Gulu Gulu Learning Academy to stay connected to the classroom and continue fostering student growth. Dedicated to lifelong learning and service, she looks forward to giving back to her community and guiding the next generation of learners.
